I spent 4th of July weekend in NYC. My best bud paid for my trip (thanx sugar!), got me drunk like any good friend would, and i managed to take a detour into Brooklyn to pick up a laptop a good friend had outgrown and was compassionate enough to help me in my plight. (thanx papi chulo!)
That’s me up there drinking some summer ale at the Brooklyn Brewery. Nothing says breakfast like summer ales! The best one is the Brooklyn Brown Ale. I need to have it fed intravenously- it’s THAT good! And that there is the first drinking I’ve done since New Year’s Eve. No I’m not kidding.
Other things me and friends did…
Went to the Friends With You interactive exhibit; NYC 2011
Dreams do come true.
Kissing giant inflatable sculpture...he had a sweet face, lol!
Floor was made of recycled tires...it was rubbery and bouncy for added fun!
We just smacked each other with the inflatable balloons. Kinda hurt...violence is fun and colorful!
More inflatable smack-downs!
Smacking bitches up is exhausting. Time for a sexy pose!
Beer tent. Because it was right next door.
This was from the European beer hut; full-bodied and rich in flavor. Essence of peach. Who cares; Getting my drinkety drink on!
Above the beer tent and exhibit was a walkway called The Highline, built atop an abandoned elevated subway railtrack. Stretches for 30+ blocks.
Passed by the world's oldest beamer. In bad condition. Looked like a cat lady lived inside it with all 40 cats. Parked right out front a local NYC hotspot, lolz!
Passed by the Andy monument. ˚˚˚˚˚˚˚ Yeah, me neither.
Woke up in the hotel room mildly buzzed and the only cure was another beer waiting for me in Brooklyn.
Got to the brewery at opening on a Sunday noon.
There's the taps where I got my drink from
- Aaand back again. Sabbath beer very good!
I also took free tour they give; show you the pix next time.
It should’ve been said neither myself or my friend had breakfast so those beers sat in quiiite nicely. I’m afraid I took embarrassing footage of us, which will never see the light of day. Man, folks sure do silly things drunk!
This concludes our embarassing picture story of Supermunk. Visit our non-existent gift shop.
And now, back to the present
Anyhoo, I have wasted no time since then. This laptop runs pretty fast for it’s age, has all the software and apps I need, but the DVD drive is screwed up. Like it won’t read data discs or burn them. Wasted a week trying to read error messages on the hardware, testing existing drivers, upgrading to newer ones, and ultimately rolling them back, which didn’t work either. Oh well, can’t win ’em all.
Then I tried to do a data migration thru an ad hoc network but that didn’t work either; ended up dismantling and resetting all the defaults. Wasted nearly 4 days on that one. Eh.
So I’m using the old desktop computer as data storage, and the new one to get shit done.
I am also melting…got the laptop on top of a cooling pad set to high, and 2 fans going on me. It was 90 degrees (F) yesterday (32 C) and slightly cooler in my bedroom. I’m glad I don’t have things like swampass to worry about. (^_^)

Other Ways SuperMunk Handles Her Business Dealings:
- At the same time, I’m adding more shirt designs to my store
- Re-surfaced the store’s web design (link if you scroll down on right side)
- I finally found a technical co-founder to work on my web platform project and it only took 2.5 years! (yes we will be looking for investors after we get the full demo up) and who knows. Maybe we will become the next internet millionaires. Better make friends with me while I’m still unpopular! Sky’s the limit!
But now with all this new stress on my table, it’s gonna be challenging to get shit going. I’ll keep you all updated as long as WordPress quits wonking out on me. It’s been making my buttons and posts disappear lately and I don’t know why.
If anyone needs wordpress.com tech support I found an email address in the forums, so hopefully it works. If you have any questions for me, email me or hit me up on Twitter or Facebook. Later kiddies!
